“The Senate is continuing on a record pace of judicial confirmations of President Trump’s nominees with today’s passage of Christopher Wolfe to serve as a federal judge in Waco.”

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after the Senate voted to confirm President Trump’s nomination of Christopher Wolfe to be a U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Texas – Waco Division:

“The Senate is continuing on a record pace of judicial confirmations of President Trump’s nominees with today’s passage of Christopher Wolfe to serve as a federal judge in Waco,” said Sen. Cornyn. “I was proud to join Senator Cruz in recommending him to serve on the federal bench given his wealth of experience upholding the rule of law as a State District Judge, and I look forward to seeing the good work he’ll do on the federal bench.”

Sens. Cornyn and Ted Cruz (R-TX) recommended Christopher Wolfe to President Trump following an extensive review and interview process of the candidate pool by the bipartisan Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee (FJEC). The Senators established the FJEC, a bipartisan panel of leading attorneys in Texas, to help identify the most qualified candidates to fill judicial vacancies. The panel reviewed applications, interviewed candidates, and made recommendations to the Senators, who interviewed individuals before making their recommendations to the President.

Christopher Wolfe has served as Judge of the 213th Judicial District Court in Tarrant County since October 2018, where he presides over felony criminal cases and supervises the Felony Alcohol Intervention Program (FAIP), a treatment program for repeat DWI offenders. Wolfe previously served as Deputy Branch Manager of the United States Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Texas – Fort Worth Division and served as an Assistant United States Attorney for 15 years. He is a member of the Federalist Society, Fort Worth Chapter. Wolfe received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Baylor University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Baylor School of Law.
