Cruz Applauds Release of Americans Imprisoned In North Korea

These Americans persevered through torture and malnourishment amid totalitarian darkness and I join their families and all our fellow citizens in celebrating their freedom  Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued the following statement regarding the release of three Americans imprisoned in North Korea:
Today is a good day for America. I commend President Trump and Secretary Pompeo for negotiating the return of Kim Dong Chul Tony Kim and Kim Hak Song from North Korea. These Americans persevered through torture and malnourishment amid totalitarian darkness and I join their families and all our fellow citizens in celebrating their freedom. But in this moment we must also remember families like Fred and Cindy Warmbier whose son Otto returned from North Korea on deaths doorstep and died less than a week after coming home. Todays development is encouraging but the United States and our allies must remain vigilant. North Korea is one of the most dangerous places on this earth to U.S. national security and to freedom in general and I will continue working with the Administration and my colleagues in Congress to ensure nothing less than the complete verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of Kim Jong-uns regime."
