Cruz Chairs Senate Judiciary Subcommittee Oversight on Hearing of Impeaching Rogue Judges

I’ll continue urging the House of Representatives to move towards impeachment so we can restore the rule of law to our judicial system.

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Judge James Boasberg used the authority of his office to authorize and to conceal the targeting of members of Congress, and concluded lawlessly that they were likely to violate the law and intimidate witnesses. It was without factual and legal basis and was a grotesque political abuse of power. Judge Deborah Boardman, who presided over the case of the would-be assassin who tried to murder Justice Brett Kavanaugh, reduced his sentence by 22 years – completely ignoring the DOJ’s request of a 30-year sentence.

Both of these are grotesque violations of their oath of office and merit impeachment. I’ll continue urging the House of Representatives to move towards impeachment so we can restore the rule of law to our judicial system.

The scale of the fraud in Minnesota is breathtaking. Since 2018, the state of Minnesota has spent about $18 billion on Medicaid, and our federal prosecutors are saying more than half of that was fraudulent and stolen. Hundreds of millions and even billions of dollars from Minnesota have funded radical Islamic terror in Somalia. The fraud is so catastrophic that the Minnesota taxpayer is the largest source of funds for the Somali terror group Al-Shabaab.

I am glad that the Trump administration is weighing in and tasking the Department of Justice with uncovering the fraud and prosecuting it. In addition, I'm going to chair a hearing on waste and fraud, and I’ve invited Governor Tim Waltz to testify so we can get the answers we need about this fraudulent spending.

President Trump’s arrest of Maduro
The Venezuelan regime, for decades, has posed an acute threat to the national security of the United States and the safety of Americans. Nicolás Maduro himself was a corrupt dictator and thug narco terrorist who was indicted for trafficking thousands of tons of cocaine into the United States.

Now, after his capture in Venezuela, every enemy of America has seen the military capacity of the United States. There is no other military on the face of the planet that could carry out what our servicemen and women did in the early hours of January 3rd. It was swift, it was flawless, and it was perfectly executed. Heidi and I will continue praying for the servicemembers who were injured, and we are thankful that no American lives were lost.

From the opening months of my time serving in the Senate, I have worked to counter Maduro’s threat to the American people, secure legitimate rule in Venezuela, and restore the country as an American ally within the Western Hemisphere. I am hopeful that President Trump’s arrest of Maduro will shortly lead to free and fair elections in Venezuela.
