David Dewhurst Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Helping a Hero

Recognized for helping veterans during 16 years of government service to Texas Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas HOUSTON Texas Today The Honorable David H. Dewhurst received a Lifetime Achievement award from Helping a Hero at their 2016 volunteer appreciation luncheon. The award is given to individuals who have helped assist the brave men and women injured in the war on terror as they transition back into their communities. The organization is specifically known for providing specially modified homes to combat-injured veterans. During his tenure as Lieutenant Governor Dewhurst worked tirelessly to increase funding for Texas veterans and led the effort to eliminate property taxes for 100 disabled veterans. Im humbled and honored to receive this award from my fellow veterans and this outstanding organization.
