Enforcing Fair Trade with China A New Bipartisan Bill to Fight Digital Threats from China Visiting the Mills County Stock Show

Enforcing Fair Trade with China
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. Beijings Made in China 2025 initiative has made it clear that the Chinese governments objective is to drive American companies out of business and move their technology and jobs to China at any cost including the use of illegal trade practices.

Earlier this week I reintroduced The Fair Trade with China Enforcement Act. This legislation works to safeguard American assets from Chinese influence and possession as well as protect American businesses from Chinas tools of economic aggression. This legislation takes the important step of barring the sale of national security sensitive U.S. intellectual property and technology to China as well as ensuring that China is paying its fair share in taxes. This bill also keeps the focus on the national security threats posed by Huawei and ZTE as China frequently uses commercial technology as a vessel to spy on the U.S. government. Allowing them access to our networks would be an enormous security risk and a massive mistake.

A New Bipartisan Bill to Fight Digital Threats from China
I also joined Congressmen C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger Jim Himes and Will Hurd to introduce bipartisan legislation that will toughen the United States position against national security threats posed by technology competitors like China.

Chinas state-directed and state-supported efforts to achieve economic dominance by stealing intellectual property from American businesses are well-documented. Meanwhile the over-reliance of Americans on foreign products that have been identified as national security risks such as cell phones made by Chinese telecom giants Huawei and ZTE creates major supply chain risks.

Chinese telecommunications giants such as Huawei and ZTE have well established ties to the Chinese Communist Party and a long history of providing a vehicle for the Chinese government to spy on American citizens and our federal government. Its critical that we respond to these rising national security threats aggressively and utilize whatever tools we have available to prevent foreign entities from harming our country.

The bill will create a new office within the White House that will serve as a central coordinator to combat the assault on American innovation which threatens our national security. The executive-level Office of Critical Technologies & Security will be tasked with interagency coordination and creating a long-term strategic plan to combat state-sponsored technology theft and supply chain vulnerabilities.

Visiting the Mills County Stock Show
Last weekend I had a fantastic morning at the Mills County Stock Show in Goldthwaite TX! These kids have been busting their backs preparing their sheep goats cattle and pigs for this event. This years grand champion heifer Winnie" is a sight to see. Congratulations to the young lady who has put in countless hours of hard work time and patience with such a beautiful creature. The home making baking art and craft events did not disappoint. Some of the baking grand champion winners were as young as 6 years old and their dishes looked so professional! This is rural America at its finest.
