Fair and Simple Tax Reform for American Families and American Jobs

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Representative Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding the Republican framework for tax reform: It has been over 30 years since the last overhaul of our tax code it is outdated and stifles American growth.  Seven out of 10 Americans want tax reform and we are listening to these hardworking American taxpayers.  Today House Republicans working with President Trump announced a new tax framework to scrap our current broken tax code and replace it with a 21^st Century plan for working families and American competitiveness. Over the past eight months American economic growth has jumped by almost 50 from the below-average growth levels of the last few years.  We believe that tax reform can take our economic growth and job opportunities to even higher levels and to relieve the economic strains being felt by working families. Our plan will address these issues because it is designed around more jobs fairer taxes and better paychecks.  For working families it is so simple that tax returns can be filed on the equivalent of a post card.  We estimate that almost 90 of families would be able to file their taxes using this type of a simplified method.  For businesses it makes America competitive again.  It will encourage economic investment and innovation for American small businesses and industry which will spur opportunity and improve global competitiveness.  We want to make America First when it comes to companies hiring Americans and building factories and our new tax code will do that. Our pro-growth reform will help American families who are living paycheck to paycheck by allowing them to keep more of their hard-earned dollars.  It will allow them to better save for education and for retirement.  I look forward to working President Trump and with my House colleagues to deliver lower and simpler taxes for all hardworking American families and businesses.
