Fallon: Schumer Democrat Shutdown Continues into Second Month

Democrats could end this madness today with a simple vote to reopen the government. Texas families can't wait, and neither can our brave servicemembers.

Texas Insider Report WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Schumer Shutdown has surpassed the previous record for longest government shutdown at 37 days, and hardworking Americans, including military servicemembers, are paying the price.

To recap, House Republicans passed a clean continuing resolution (CR) at the end of September to keep the government funded at Biden-era levels, exactly what Democrats have previously supported. But Senate Democrats have since blocked it a total of 14 times, holding our nation hostage to push their far-left agenda. Their $1.5 trillion list of demands include free healthcare for illegal aliens and billions of wasteful spending overseas, all while American families struggle to put food on the table.

The fallout is hitting hard: 700,000 troops are going without paychecks, 20,000 flights delayed or canceled in the past week nationwide, and programs like SNAP and WIC left without funding. Our national security has been put at risk as well: military exercises have been canceled, nuclear stockpile maintenance has been halted, and airspace shutdowns loom as soon as next week due to a shortage in ATC employees.

Democrats could end this madness today with a simple vote to reopen the government. Texas families can't wait, and neither can our brave servicemembers.
