Five ILTexas High Schools Receive Prestigious Recognition

These achievements wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of our JROTC instructors, the hard work of our cadets, and the unwavering support of families and school leaders.

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas (RICHARDSON, TX) International Leadership of Texas, the free public K-12 charter school, is proud to share that five of our high school Marine Corps JROTC (MJROTC) have earned the prestigious Naval Honor School recognition, which recognizes the top 20% programs in the nation.

Learn more about ILTexas MJROTC here.

With the Naval Honor School designation comes the ability for each program’s Senior Marine Instructor to nominate 6 cadets to the U.S. Naval Academy, three cadets to the U.S. Air Force Academy, and three to U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

The MCJROTC program mission is to develop courageous, character driven young adults who possess the attributes of personal responsibility and accountability in order to become model citizens in service to the United States.

In addition to Naval Honor School, Aggieland High School received the Marine Corps Reserve Association’s Outstanding Unit Award which recognizes the #1 school in the country in their category (based on school size).

These honors are a tremendous testament to the hard work, commitment, and dedication of each respective program’s cadets and instructors.  Across all campuses last year, the ILTexas MCJROTC cadets performed 33,507 hours of community service, supported 140 community events with color guards, competed in 157 events, and participated in 189 extracurricular events (field trips, guest speakers, leadership camps, etc.). The senior MCJROTC cadets earned $39.4 million in scholarships. We are excited to see what these phenomenal cadets will do this upcoming school year.

Congratulations to our award-winning campuses:
  • ILTexas Garland High School – Naval Honor School for the fourth year in a row
  • ILTexas AGPHS – Naval Honor School for the second time.
  • ILTexas KWPHS – Naval Honor School for the first time.
  • ILTexas WLOHS – Naval Honor School for the first time.
  • ILTexas Aggieland High School – Naval Honor School in their first year as a program, and recipient of the Marine Corps Reserve Association Outstanding Unit Award, presented to the top school in their category nationwide.
The Naval Honor School designation reflects exceptional performance in academics, leadership, community service, and military proficiency. These achievements wouldn’t be possible without the tireless efforts of our JROTC instructors, the hard work of our cadets, and the unwavering support of families and school leaders.
