FLORES: Protecting the Sanctity of Life

Now that we have an administration thats committed to protecting the sanctity of life... Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 36 the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding passage of the bill:

Americas Declaration of Independence states that all persons are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights including life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. For too long Americas outdated laws have failed to protect those rights for unborn children. Today the House of Representatives took a strong stand to reaffirm and protect those rights by passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Scientific studies have shown that at 20 weeks an unborn child can feel pain. With the House passage of this important legislation we are giving protections to vulnerable unborn children who are unable speak for themselves; this bipartisan bill speaks on their behalf by protecting their right to life. Now that we have an administration that is committed to protecting the sanctity of life I am optimistic that we can finally see this common sense pro-life legislation signed into law. I urge the Senate to follow the lead of the House and take this important moral stand to protect the lives of the unborn.
