After 675 days $25 million 2800 subpoenas 500 witness interviews and endless media speculation about collusion removing the President using the 25th amendment and even charges of treason there is no collusion. Those finding disappointment that President Trump has been vindicated from charges of colluding with a foreign enemy should question whether their allegiance is to their country or their party. Muellers conclusions should be seen as nothing less than a victory for the American people.
Yet the tone out of the mainstream media and Democratic Party partnership is one of obvious depression and disillusionment. Now that the primary results of the investigation are released and President Trump has been vindicated Democrats dont want to sleep in the bed they spent two years making. After being wrong about the Presidents ability to win the 2016 election their only play to challenge the President turned out to be fake news.
So whats next? First we need to look at the opportunities lost and the damage created.
Eighty-three percent of President Trumps first term has been overlaid with Robert Muellers wrongly heralded overture towards impeachment eating up media hours legislative time committee work and important initiatives that would bring prosperity and security to Americans from all walks of life. If not for this investigation built on falsehoods and deception imagine the judicial nominees that would be confirmed the illegal immigration curbed and the number of Americans who might have expanded healthcare options and freedom. In fact when you consider the scope and tone of the investigation it is astonishing to consider what the Republican Congress and the President have been able to accomplish over the last 22 months.
All the while congressional Democrats have shown they have no policy agenda other than resistance and rehashing. The fixation on this investigation was driven by progressive activists and the media elite both of whom wanted to relitigate the results of the 2016 election.
Here is what the Democratic Party and the media will do now. They will claim that the Mueller report doesnt close the book on the matter. It does. They will claim that the President did not comply and still has something to hide. False. They will keep grasping for straws.
Over the next two years as we see House Democrats subpoena President Trumps family campaign officials and associates we cannot forget the way they conducted themselves during this inquiry. Empowered by politicians like Reps. Adam Shiff and Eric Swawell routinely and baselessly promising clear evidence of collusion and fueled by fake dossiers funded by political campaigns bad actors utilized our legal and intelligence systems to escape the political outcome of the 2016 election.
We must hold all who are at fault from Congress to the Department of Justice accountable for their lies and abuses of power.
The next time Democrats use their subpoena abilities it is not for the truth but simply to smear the names of good Americans serving our country. We cannot let them make a mockery of our legislative system.
Further hearings and inquiries will be like the Mueller investigation except this time the investigator is not a non-partisan actor and the outcome is prebaked. Its time to move on and focus on solving the real issues that face our nation one of which was a conclusion of the Mueller investigation: our foreign adversaries are trying to undermine our credibility on the world stage and our electoral process at home. Letting House Democrats shove us further down the pit of a never-ending investigation will only let those wishing to divide us win.
