Since 84 of the American people currently believe that Sanctuary Cities increase the cost of crime in the United States former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich says the Democrat Party has swung too far to the left on the issue of Immigration Control and it could have major benefits for the Republican Party in the 2018 Election.
I think thats a dead loser for the Democrats" said Gingrich of the Open Borders vs. Criminals coming into our country debate in a recent interview.Yes despite the chatter captivating much of the countrys political discussion the past few months Gingrich believes Democrats have made a serious mistake that will cost them at the polls come November especially given the fat that President Donald Trump seems intent on keeping the issue front and center during this falls budget debate in Congress.
The American people want the Federal Government to exert control over the rising tide of Illegal Immigration in order to protect them says Gingrich alluding to the Abolish ICE movement gaining traction within the Democrat party this election cycle.
And Gingrich says they want to see to see their elected officials enforce border regulations to reduce crime.
Look if the only issue narrowly drawn is the Border Wall I dont know that its a winner" Gingrich said.
But if the issue is does the United States have the right to control immigration? Do we have the right to block murderers? Thugs? An Ms-13 gang dedicated to torture rape and murder?
This is not hyperbole. This is a fact."
Gingrich also said sanctuary cities have emboldened illegal immigrants which has lead to increased crime rate nationwide. Sanctuary cities increase the danger of crime. 84 of the country 84 agree that Sanctuary Cities increase the cost of crime" Gingrich noted.
So if President Trump gets in a fight where the issue is not just the Border Wall but the issue is a Democrat Party committed to Open Borders and wide open migration system with no controls versus a Republican Party trying to protect you from criminals I think thats a dead loser for the Democrats" said Gingrich.
