Growth throough Reentry to Advance Careers & Employment
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Reentering the workforce can be a challenge for individuals who have been incarcerated. Time away from the labor market and a criminal record can be barriers to employment. Meanwhile, many employers are facing labor shortages, exacerbated by the tremendous economic growth Texas is experiencing.
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is hosting its "Growth through Reentry to Advance Careers & Employment" (GRACE) Conference. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to increase your workforce, while helping the formerly incarcerated gain meaningful employment and the opportunity for a fresh start.
Topics will include:
- State resources information for employers
- How current employers are making second chance hiring successful
- Educational opportunities prior to release
- How these opportunities are changing lives for the better
