ROGER WILLIAMS: Biden's High Inflation Continues to Burden Working Americans

Texas Insider Report WASHINGTON, D.C. – The CPI report released this week shows that the American economy continues to be ravaged by high inflation caused by President Biden and Democrats’ reckless spending. Inflation remains at the top of concerns for Americans and small business owners across the country who are forced to choose whether they can afford groceries, housing, or gas.

The year-over-year inflation rate of 6.4% is a reminder of the economic headwinds and challenges facing Main Street and hardworking families daily. 

Since President Biden took office, we've seen:
 

• the rate of inflation jump from 1.4% to a record high of 9.1%,
• real wages have declined by 3.9%, and
• energy prices have increased by 42%

This high rate of inflation cannot be allowed to become the "new normal" or the status quo.

While inflation continues to rise for 15th consecutive months, the President has been taking a victory lap and refuses to take responsibility for the inflation crisis we have seen for two years under his watch. As Chairman of the House Small Business Committee, I am committed to creating an economic environment where small businesses and American families can once again thrive.

We must start with curbing the Democrats reckless spending habits and bringing back fiscal order in Washington, DC
