Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Probing DOE on LNG Export Ban.
I joined the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability in questioning the Biden-Harris Administration's ban on liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. There have been several reports that the Department of Energy (DOE) used a flawed study to shut down LNG exports. The U.S. House passed my legislation in a bipartisan vote to reverse this de facto ban that would hurt American energy production.
American energy is the cleanest, most affordable, secure energy on the planet. President Biden and Vice President Harris must answer for their political targeting of the Permian Basin. Watch my full line of questioning

Meeting with Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy
Last week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, and a small group of lawmakers discussing our plans to cut wasteful spending and fraud in our government. The American people delivered a mandate in November, and we are already hitting the ground running to ensure we are ready to go in January. I am excited to work with these two leaders in the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Advocating for Agriculture Producers
As the 118th Congress begins to wrap up, I am actively advocating for strong assistance to farmers and ranchers who have experienced natural disasters, inflation, or drought. I am a proud co-sponsor of the
Farmer Assistance and Revenue Mitigation (FARM) Act which will assist producers when their revenue falls below the cost of production due to circumstances beyond their control. We must provide much-needed relief to our farmers and ranchers. Food security is national security.
FTC Blocking Scott Sheffield from ExxonMobil Board
Earlier this year, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alleged that Pioneer Natural Resources Chairman Scott Sheffield colluded with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to manipulate global oil and gas production and increase oil and gas prices.
In response, the FTC blocked Mr. Sheffield from joining the board at ExxonMobil following the merger of the two companies. I sent a
letter to FTC Chairwoman Lina Khan demanding answers and transparency for this decision. This is a blatant overreach of the FTC and its power.
