House Republicans Continue Working On Behalf of America

Michael McCaul

The U.S. stands, unequivocally, with Israel.

This week, House Republicans selected Representative Mike Johnson to be our 56th speaker as we continue working on behalf of Americans to secure our border, strengthen our economy, and protect U.S. national security. I am eager to continue this crucial work, as threats from our adversaries continue to grow each day.

With these threats looming, I was honored to have my resolution supporting Israel and condemning Hamas and its sponsors for their atrocities be the very first piece of legislation brought to the House floor under Speaker Johnson. This resolution condemns in the strongest possible terms the atrocities of Hamas and reiterates Israel’s right to defend itself. It also condemns Iran for its support for Hamas and terrorist proxies.

This was the most co-sponsored resolution of all time, and passing it with a broad bipartisan majority sent a clear message to the world: The U.S. stands, unequivocally, with Israel. To hear my full remarks on the resolution, Click Here.

Strong Conservative Wins
This week, I was proud to vote for the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, House Republican's fifth bill funding crucial government operations through next year.

Passing this bill is a major win for Texas and conservatives, as it:

  • Rescinds $5.6 billion of the massive spending bill passed by Democrats and President Biden last year.
  • Terminates President Biden's flawed WOTUS rule that unnecessarily burdens our nation's farmers and ranchers.
  • Prohibits the Biden administration from selling oil in our strategic petroleum reserve to China.
  • Bolsters our nuclear weapons stockpiles.
As we continue working to pass bills that fund various sectors of our government, I'm looking forward to gaining even more conservative wins. House Republicans are not done fighting for Americans and the betterment of our country.
