Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas (HUMBLE TX) State Representative Dan Huberty issued the following statement upon filing for re-election to State Representative District 127:
Our area was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey and then devastated by the release of upstream floodwaters by the San Jacinto River Authority just as our neighbors to the west took a one-two punch with a knockout blow from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers releases from Addicks and Barker Reservoirs. The people of our District demand accountability from these entities and Im committed to making this a priority" Huberty said.

First elected to the Texas House in 2010 Huberty has seen successes ranging from public education to annexation power generation to tax relief for small business. In 2017 he was named the Chairman of the House Public Education Committee.
As the Chairman of the Public Education Committee we made great progress serving the 5.3 million children in Texas public schools. The passage of HB 21 (85R) was the first step toward finally addressing public school finance and I look forward to returning to Austin to continue work on this critically important issue" Huberty concluded.
