Hurd & SASTEMIC Hit the Road to Provide Training Workshops

Tech 2 Town" Brings Free Technology Training to Texas Towns Texas Insider Report: SAN ANTONIO Texas In an effort to provide job training and business development skills to individuals and small business operators U.S. Representative Will Hurd has partnered with SASTEMIC a San Antonio-based nonprofit to host a series of technology training workshops in our local communities throughout South and West Texas. The Tech2Town Summer Road Trip will be held in San Elizario Van Horn Alpine Fort Stockton Sonora and Del Rio August 2-5 where Hurd and Janie Martinez Gonzalez CEO of Webhead and Board Member of SASTEMIC will provide technical training and resources as part of a larger initiative to inspire STEM education careers and entrepreneurship.

If Texas wants to maintain a healthy economy we must have qualified creative problem solvers to fill jobs in todays technical industries and the industries that dont even exist yet" said Hurd who majored in Computer Science at Texas A&M and chairs the House Subcommittee on Information Technology. To have a qualified workforce we must ensure access to STEM education and development for all ages and abilitiesand not just in the big cities like San Antonio and El Pasobut in all of our hard-working communities. Prioritizing STEM education initiatives like Tech 2 Town will help create a diverse 21^st century workforce drive technological advancement and innovation across every industry and allow Texans to be more competitive in the global arena."
