Lt. Gov. Patrick Announces Marian Wallace as New Deputy Chief of Staff

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced that he has named education policy advisor Marian Wallace deputy chief of staff. Wallace will serve under long-time chief of staff Darrell Davila. Upon making the announcement, Lt. Gov. Patrick issued the following statement:

"I am proud to name Marian Wallace my deputy chief of staff. Marian has been a trusted advisor of mine since I've been in elected office. Marian is committed to conservative principles and nobody knows education policy like she does. Her expertise will be a key asset in moving our legislative agenda forward this upcoming session."

Wallace has worked for Lt. Gov. Patrick since he first took office as senator in 2007 and served as his Senate Committee on Education director from 2012 to 2014. She has served as Patrick's education policy advisor since he became Lt. Governor in 2015. Upon her appointment, Wallace issued the following statement:

"I am honored and excited to begin a new season with the Lt. Governor as deputy chief of staff. Over the years, I have come to know Lt. Gov. Patrick as a genuine man of faith and conservative principles who desires to serve the people of Texas. He is a mentor and I look forward to working to advance his agenda."

Marian Wallace is a graduate of Baylor University with a bachelor's degree in political science and a concentration in professional writing. After college, Wallace worked as a political writer in Washington, D.C. and Austin for various politicians and conservative advocacy groups.
