Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. According to a new
Poll released by Gallup earlier this month members of the Democrat Party have a more favorable view of Socialism than Capitalism. Of the Democrats who responded to the questionnaire 57 view Socialism positively while 47 view Capitalism positively.
Yes for the first time in Gallups history of measurement over the past decade Democrats have a more positive image of Socialism than they do of Capitalism.
The poll comes as the popularity of
self-identifying Democratic Socialists like Sen. Bernie Sanders I-Vermont and New York
Congressional Candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez remains high.

and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America won the Democratic nomination in New Yorks 14
th Congressional District and has attained Rock-Star Status among huge swaths of Democrat Party followers ever since.
The unexpected swing in Democrats economic beliefs is a change since 2016 when results showed that 56 of Democrats had a positive view of Capitalism. But there has been little movement on their feelings towards Socialism since 2010 when 53 of poll respondents had a positive view.
On the other hand Republicans feel very positive about Capitalism according to the poll 71 of Republicans favor of Capitalism while only 16 have positive sentiments towards Socialism.
Socialism was most popular among Democrats in the 18-29 age group with 51 saying they held a positive view while only 28 of the 65 crowd support the concept.
Results of the survey come from a random sample of 1505 adults living in the United States ages 18 and up who were polled between July 30th & August 5th 2018. The margin of error is /- 3 percentage points at a confidence level of 95.
