"I was the only Democrat through this entire thing to refuse to shut our government down."
By Steve Moore
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Texas Insider Report) — The first term Pennsylvania senator sure sounds like one of late as he continues to lash out at and publicly embarrass his Democratic colleagues. And mostly for good reasons. When Senate Democrats voted down emergency funding for airport security to end the two and three hour waiting lines, Fetterman was the only sane Dem who voted to end the mayhem on his side of the aisle. The TSA hasn’t been funded for five weeks now.
Fetterman told Newsmax:"All the kinds of security, not just TSA, all of DHS is shut down. And that's also our cybersecurity agency – that's another part of it – and the two premier kinds of nations that use those tools, that's China and Iran.
"And right now, too – why are we keeping this closed? I was the only Democrat through this entire thing to refuse to shut our government down."
"And right now, too – why are we keeping this closed? I was the only Democrat through this entire thing to refuse to shut our government down."
Ironically, when Fetterman came to the Senate we thought he was a little deranged, but it turns out he’s about the only voice of sanity in the party
The Democrat base is furious with Fetterman over this renegade behavior. His disapproval rating among Pennsylvania Democrats is now 62%. But he could still survive a primary in 2028 if he faces more than one opponent. Or he might just follow the path of former moderate Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema, both of whom became independents after opposing Joe Biden too often.
Or he could switch parties.
