The press is doing its damndest to avoid having to report on the unreasonableness of the Democrats position. President Trump on Saturday made a reasonable compromise to the Democrats on border security including on DACA.
The Democrats immediately said no. There was no debate or consideration. They just rejected it. So the press is ignoring it.
If the Republicans had done that the press would give nonstop coverage to their rejection of compromise. The press likes compromise but increasingly it appears they only like it when it benefits Democrats.
This is a serious issue and the press would rather run made up stories about students from Kentucky and double down in defense of BuzzFeed than point out that President Trump has made a very reasonable compromise. Hes abandoned his idea of a wall to wall border. He has abandoned his claims that Mexico would pay for the wall. And he has offered to embrace DACA after previously rejecting it. But the Democrats have refused to compromise on even this. They are being unreasonable. And the media is choosing to ignore it all because they would otherwise have to point out the Democrats are now the ones prolonging the government shutdown by refusing to compromise.
