Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Securing our border starts with strong leadership, and that’s exactly what we’re getting with President Trump. For four long years, Joe Biden’s open-border policies poured gasoline on the fire, unleashing chaos and endangering Americans. Now, the Trump administration is taking swift action to restore order, crack down on dangerous criminals and gangs, and secure our nation.
As co-chair of the Border Security Caucus, I joined Fox Business to break it all down — including my bill, the Birthright Citizenship Act.

RSC Right to the Point Podcast: I had the opportunity to host a podcast with some of my Republican Study Committee colleagues to discuss critical issues facing our nation. We covered major investments in modernizing our military, the importance of DOGE savings, and the fight against rogue judges who are undermining our President.

As a proud member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, I know firsthand how critical water infrastructure is to our economy, security, and way of life.
In my latest op-ed for The Washington Times, entitled "Flowing forward: How Texas is leading the charge in water infrastructure," I break down how Texas is setting the standard for smart, forward-thinking investments in flood protection, ports, and energy infrastructure.
Strong leadership and strategic planning are key to keeping America resilient, competitive, and prepared for the future.
Taking Action to Protect American Consumer Choice and National Security
Last week, House Republicans took action to reverse the Biden Administration’s radical regulations that harm consumers and raise costs for American families. I proudly voted to roll back burdensome energy standards on appliances like refrigerators and coolers, giving consumers the freedom to choose affordable, efficient options.
We also passed the DETERRENT Act to protect American students from foreign influence, particularly from the Chinese Communist Party and Russia. This bill strengthens transparency in higher education and fortifies our national security, ensuring that foreign adversaries can’t manipulate our campuses. It’s time to protect American families, students, and the values that make our country strong.
Restoring Trust in American Elections
Last week, President Trump took action to protect the integrity of American elections with a new executive order aimed at strengthening voter citizenship verification and preventing foreign interference. The order mandates that voter registration forms require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship and ensures that key federal agencies provide states with access to databases to verify voter eligibility.
The order also targets non-citizen voting and election fraud, with the Attorney General prioritizing prosecution of violations and enforcing laws against foreign nationals contributing to U.S. elections.
In a time when other nations have advanced voter protections, President Trump’s executive order brings necessary reforms to safeguard our elections, ensuring that American citizens’ votes are protected and foreign influence is kept out.
Federal funding for election-related activities will now be tied to state compliance with these integrity measures, including the use of paper ballots and improved security standards for voting equipment.
