Lt. Gov. Patrick: Here's the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Report on Law Enforcement's Uvalde Response

"There will be reports from the FBI, Texas Rangers, and District Attorney in the coming weeks and months."

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – "ALERRT's 26-page report outlining the attack on Robb Elementary School in complete detail was very difficult for me to read today, as it will be for all Texans. This report is the first official report released to the public on the timeline of the events on that tragic day," said Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, commenting after the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center (ALERRT) issued its report on Law Enforcement's response in the Uvalde tragedy.

The ALERRT Center – located at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas – is known across the nation for providing the best research-based active shooter response training in the nation.

In 2013 the ALERRT Center was named the National Standard in Active Shooter Response Training by the FBI.

"There will be reports from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Texas Rangers, and District Attorney in the coming weeks and months. Those reports will include information based on 100s of interviews from those on the scene that day. Every interview will be matched against other interviews if there are differences, and matched to audio and video timeline evidence.

"The ALERRT report corroborates the testimony given by Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steve McCraw before the Senate Special Committee to Protect All Texans several weeks ago. That public testimony and this official report clarify what actually happened during the attack.

"I urge Texans to read the report for themselves so they know the truth. In the Senate, we will continue to hold all of our hearings on this event and all issues in public," said Patrick.

The report can be downloaded on ALERRT's website here.

Utilizing the train-the-trainer model, the ALERRT curriculum has been adopted by numerous states and agencies as their standard active shooter training. These states include Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, and Virginia, to name a few. In addition, the New York City Police Department, the Dallas, Houston & San Antonio Police Departments in Texas, as well as the Atlanta Police Department. the Miami Police Department, and the Memphis Police Department are among the major cities across the nation that have adopted the ALERRT curriculum as their standard.
