Statement on Presidents Nomination of Ryan Patrick for US Attorney
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick today appointed six Texas senators to the Texas Legislative Council. The Texas Legislative Council assists the legislature in drafting proposed legislation conducts investigations and studies and makes reports to the legislature. The Lt. Governors appointees are:
- Sen. Bryan Hughes R-Mineola
- Sen. Charles Perry R-Lubbock
- Sen. Royce West D-Dallas
- Sen. Sylvia Garcia D-Houston
- Sen. Dawn Buckingham R-Lakeway
- Sen. Konni Burton R-Colleyville
The lieutenant governor also appointed
Sen. Don Huffines R-Dallas to the Compact Facility Legislative Oversight Committee which will consider and make recommendations relevant to the Texas low-level radioactive waste disposal compact facility.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick made this statement today following President Donald J. Trumps nomination of his son Ryan Patrick for United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas:
Jan and I are obviously very proud of our son Ryan. The selection process was extremely competitive and involved a series of interviews and reviews over the past six months. His record as a prosecutor and criminal court judge make him uniquely qualified for this position and we are very happy for him.
