I have no doubt he’ll build on this momentum and continue delivering results for the American people.
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Under President Trump’s leadership, our borders are stronger than ever, built on his relentless commitment to keeping America safe and secure.
The president signed executive orders that restored law and order at our border, strengthened national security, and took the fight directly to the drug cartels poisoning our communities. For 10 consecutive months, not a single illegal alien has been released into the country. That’s not just a policy win — it’s a clear demonstration of what strong leadership and accountability can accomplish.
This week, I am proud to see my friend, Markwayne Mullin, be confirmed as the new Secretary of Homeland Security and build on this success. Markwayne is a proven fighter, a man of integrity, and someone who understands what it takes to get the job done. I have no doubt he’ll build on this momentum and continue delivering results for the American people.
Combating Veteran Suicide Rates
Texas carries a heavy burden. We’re home to more veterans than any other state in the nation, but we’re losing too many of them at a higher rate than anywhere else in the nation.
These are our neighbors, our family members, and our fellow Texans. They answered the call to serve, and we have an obligation to answer theirs. That's why I've been fighting in Congress to demand real answers and real solutions to combat this.
Recently, the VA has taken steps in the right direction. Last year, outreach through the Veterans Crisis Line increased by more than 39%, and the VA completed over 5.3 million suicide risk screenings, which is approximately 200,000 more than the previous year. That progress matters.
I've also been advocating alongside my colleagues for the
Major Richard Star Act, which is legislation our veterans absolutely deserve.
Every one of us has a role to play. Veterans carry battles you can’t see. If you know one, ask how they’re really holding up. Listen. Be present. One honest conversation might be the difference between them giving up and finding hope.
Our veterans showed up for us. Now it's our turn to show up for them.
