McCaul: Mayorkas Has 'Utterly Failed' to Uphold His Constitutional Oath

Mayorkas deserves to be impeached

By Cong. Michael McCaul

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – No amount of facts, figures, or statistics can fully demonstrate the heartache and devastation Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' border crisis has caused throughout our nation. At last week's House Committee on Homeland Security's second impeachment hearing of Secretary Mayorkas, I spoke with two mothers grieving the loss of their daughters due to Secretary Mayorkas' dereliction of duty.

They hold him, and his failed border policies, personally accountable for their family's irreparable loss, and so do I.

He took an oath to defend and protect the Constitution and the American people – air, land & sea – from enemies both foreign and domestic, and has utterly failed to do so.

Now, we are seeing the cause and effect that has occurred because of his failure to uphold that oath.

It’s destruction, and it's death – and, it has to stop.

Mayorkas deserves to be impeached.

The Biden administration and Congressional Democrats’ blatant overreach knows no bounds. Last week, I was proud to sponsor the "No Kill Switches in Cars Act" to say 'enough is enough' and to ensure Americans' vehicles can never be arbitrarily disabled and shut down.

ICYMI: Rep. McCaul in the News

Two mothers appeared Thursday before the House panel conducting an impeachment inquiry into Alejandro Mayorkas, eviscerating the homeland security secretary for his failure to secure the U.S. Border and sharing personal tragedies brought about by a surge in crime and fentanyl trafficking.

“On July 27, 2022, I received the worst news that a parent doesn’t want to hear,” Maryland mom Tammy Nobles told the House Homeland Security Committee, “that my newly 20-year-old daughter, Kayla Hamilton, was murdered in her own room and left on the floor like trash.”

“The illegal MS-13 known gang member brutally raped and murdered my daughter by strangling her with a cord and robbed her of six dollars,”
added Nobles, who appeared with another grieving parent, Josephine Dunn, and a law professor – while Mayorkas declined to show, citing an event he was hosting with Mexican officials.

Republican panelist have argued that Mayorkas, 64, is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors by not enforcing federal immigration laws and misleading Congress about the Biden administration’s border control.

Nobles and Dunn told committee members that the Biden White House's policies were directly responsible for the deaths of their daughters.
