National Border Patrol Council Endorses Tony Gonzales

"From fighting to fix our pay to providing additional funds and support, he’s doing everything he can to give us a strong voice in Washington. It would be a step backwards for our efforts to not have Congressman Gonzales representing us in Congress.”

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – (San Antonio, TX) – The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) has endorsed Representative Tony Gonzales for Congress. NBPC represents 16,000 Border Patrol Agents and other border security personnel. Gonzales is the first candidate for the 2022 elections to be endorsed by NBPC.

“Congressman Tony Gonzales is a fighter for our Border Patrol Agents and we strongly endorse him for reelection. From fighting to fix our pay to providing additional funds and support, he’s doing everything he can to give us a strong voice in Washington. It would be a step backwards for our efforts to not have Congressman Gonzales representing us in Congress,” said Brandon Judd, President of the National Border Patrol Council.

“The men and women of Border Patrol put their lives on the line every single day to keep us all safe. I am proud to have their backs and will never stop fighting for them in Washington to make sure they have the tools they need to do their job. It is an honor to have their support as we work together to resolve the border crisis,” said Representative Tony Gonzales.

Tony Gonzales represents over 800 miles of US-Mexico border, more than any other member of the House of Representatives. Gonzales has led in Congress on efforts to support border patrol, secure the border, and reform the legal immigration system. In addition to fighting for more funds for border patrol and border security as a member of the Appropriations Committee, Gonzales has introduced critical legislation to address the problems at our southern border:

Security First Act – Requires DHS to look at improvements to hiring and retaining border patrol agents, encourages DHS to upgrade border security technology, doubles funding for local law enforcement programs designed to secure the border, and designates Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations.

Border Patrol Pay Fix Bill – Ensures border patrol agents receive the proper compensation.

Bipartisan Border Solutions Act – Keeps border patrol agents on the front lines, increases the number of judges, adds more ICE Enforcement and Removal personnel, helps stop catch-and-release, and reduces the impact of illegal immigration on border communities.
