CONG. BABIN: Yes, It Is 'One Big, Beautiful Bill'

President Trump called for "one big, beautiful bill," and House Republicans delivered.

By Cong. Brian Babin

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, we passed a fiscally responsible Budget Resolution in the House of Representatives that sets the stage for:

  • Extending the Trump Tax Cuts,
  • Securing our Border,
  • Unleashing American Energy, and
  • Reining in Reckless Spending.
This is the first step in undoing the damage of the past four years and restoring a pro-America agenda.

Don’t be misled by the liberal media’s fear tactics. They want you to believe Republicans are cutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. That’s simply not true. Our budget doesn’t slash these programs; it prioritizes responsible policies that eliminate wasteful spending and ensure taxpayer dollars are used where they’re truly needed.

Americans won't soon forget that every single House Democrat voted against cutting waste, against preventing tax hikes on hardworking families and small businesses, and against giving our Border Patrol and military the resources they need to keep America safe.

Washington Does NOT Belong in Our Homes

I voted YES on H.J. Res. 20 to overturn yet another burdensome Biden-era regulation to roll back a last minute Biden Administration rule that would've forced Americans into more costly, less efficient alternative water heaters for their OWN HOMES.The federal government has NO business dictating what kind of water heaters Americans choose.

This was another step in the right direction to put power back where it belongs—with YOU.

Ending the Natural Gas Tax

Last week, Congress took action to eliminate Biden’s disastrous natural gas tax once and for all. The Congressional Review Act (CRA) to reverse this harmful policy passed both the House and Senate and is now headed to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law. This tax punished American energy producers, especially those in the Permian Basin, by driving up costs, discouraging investment, and raising energy prices nationwide.

In November, the American people sent a clear message: they want lower energy costs.

This is another step toward delivering on that promise.

Speaking with the Greater Houston Partnership

I had the opportunity to speak with the Greater Houston Partnership about the critical issues shaping Houston’s future. As a proud Southeast Texan, I know firsthand that our region is the backbone of American energy production, and under President Trump’s leadership, we are restoring energy dominance to strengthen our economy and national security. I also reaffirmed my commitment to keeping Houston at the forefront of space exploration, transportation investment, and economic growth.

Whether it’s ensuring the success of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, securing funding for vital infrastructure projects, or pushing back against burdensome regulations, I’ll continue fighting for Houston’s leadership in these key industries.
