McCAUL: Opening Impeachment Inquiry Into President Biden, Every American Deserves Truth & Accountability

"The White House has refused to cooperate in good faith, forcing House Republicans to formalize an official impeachment inquiry into President Biden."

from Cong. Michael McCaul

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – As chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I believe it’s crucial to know whether the president or any members of his family were influenced in any way by improper foreign business dealings. House Republicans have followed the facts and money for a year now, working to reveal whether or not President Biden knew about, was involved with, and benefited from his family’s corrupt influence peddling schemes.

Unfortunately, the White House has refused to cooperate in good faith, forcing House Republicans to formalize an official impeachment inquiry into President Biden.

This inquiry will give Congress more authority to enforce subpoenas, follow the facts, and deliver the truth and accountability every American deserves. That's why, as a formal federal prosecutor, I voted for this inquiry.

If the White House refuses to be transparent, Congress will use our Article I inquiry authorities to get answers.

I discussed more of my thoughts on this inquiry with Martha McCallum on Fox News

Supporting Troops, Strengthening U.S. Military Might

Over the last year, we’ve witnessed the threat of our adversaries grow in alarming ways. We must do all we can to support and strengthen our military, ensuring our troops — those who truly represent the best of us and our Nation’s values — have the means necessary to combat our adversaries now more than ever.

This year’s NDAA supports these heroes and works to keep liberal ideology from infiltrating our military, bolster our nuclear stockpiles, and secure our last line of defense — the southern border. I was proud to support this bill to restore the American military might needed to defend our nation and the free world.

This year's NDAA contains many conservative victories, including:

  • Authorizes a 5.2 percent pay increase for troops, the largest in more than 20 years;
  • Includes a Parents’ Bill of Rights to ensure parents of children in DoD schools have the right to meet with teachers and review curriculum;
  • Protects and reinstates servicemembers who were discharged due to refusal of the COVID-19 vaccine;
  • Supports law enforcement operations at the border and tackles the fentanyl crisis through counterdrug activities;
  • Defends Israel in her time of need;
  • Works to track and prevent CCP espionage; and
  • Bolsters U.S. military readiness by strengthening our defense industrial base.
In addition to supporting our troops, I'm proud this year's NDAA provides exciting wins for our state of Texas, including a provision that strengthens the DoD's partnership with academic institutions like Texas A&M — a national leader in hypersonic weapons.

As chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I also worked to include several provisions that will promote American leadership globally, strengthen relationships with our allies, and push back on the malign agenda of our adversaries like China.

On Fox News' "Your World with Neil Cavuto"

"We've had over 90 attacks on our troops in Iraq and Syria from Iran-backed militias ... and for the most part, that's gone without really any response [from the Biden administration].

"I think our inability to respond to [Iran's] attacks is making them question [our resolve] that much more.

"If we show weakness here, and invite more aggression from Iran, I believe that would be a mistake."
  Congressman Michael McCaul represents Texas' 10th Congressional District, which stretches from Lake Travis outside of Austin to the Brazos Valley and includes: Austin, Bastrop, Brazos, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lee, Madison, Travis, Washington, Waller and Williamson Counties.
