House Passes Laken Riley Act
By Cong. Pat Fallon
Texas Insider Report: (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – This past weekend gave me a chance to reflect on Joe Biden's "State of the Union" address from last Thursday. Besides the numerous gaffes that we've come to expect from Joe Biden, what the nation witnessed may have been not only the most partisan address ever given, but it was also the most out-of-touch.
Joe Biden threatened the Justices of the U.S. Supreme Court (who was sitting right in front of him,) over the issue of abortion, and lied about his economic record when Americans can clearly see for themselves when they go to the grocery store or the gas station.
Biden even began the speech not by talking about America, but about Ukraine, which was invaded under his watch.
The fact that Joe Biden jumped through hoops to avoid talking about the worst border crisis in American history should astound everyone. Issue polls make clear that immigration and the border are at the top of everyone's minds.

By all means, I want Joe Biden to do the right thing and secure our border. He could have began his speech by stating that he would undertake executive actions, such as reinstating Trump's Remain in Mexico policy to put an end to this crisis. Instead, Biden chose anger and divisiveness.
Last week in Washington:
The House of Representatives met to face the first of two upcoming funding deadlines. On Wednesday, the House passed a six bill spending package for the remainder of the 2024 fiscal year.
This package increased topline spending by $24 billion. I joined 84 of my House Republican colleagues in voting against the bill because, once again, it represents business as usual in Washington and a misallocation of taxpayer dollars.
The remaining Defense, Labor/HHS, and Homeland Security bills must be completed by March 22nd.
The Laken Riley Act:
Last week, House Republicans passed the Laken Riley Act which requires DHS to take criminal illegal aliens into custody. Riley's killer was previously arrested in NYC and then released before an ICE detainer was issued to keep him in custody. Riley's family supports these efforts.
170 Democrats voted against this bill that would have prevented Riley, and 1,000s of other Americans' deaths.
This should tell you everything you need to know about how Joe Biden and his party are handling the mass illegal immigration crisis that he initiated on day one in office.
Make no mistake, Laken Riley would still be alive today if Joe Biden were not in the White House.

YikTok:
The House returns this week to consider legislation to force the app TikTok to severe its ties with companies that are beholden to Communist China. Last week, this bill passed 50-0 out of committee--talk about bipartisanship!
TikTok has served as a propaganda tool and as spyware for the CCP. Congress must take action to address this major national security threat!
Congressman Pat Fallon has previously represented North Texans in the Texas Legislature, and now proudly serves as the Congressman for Texas’ 4th Congressional District, where he serves over 700,000 great American “bosses”.
