Pete Sessions Announces the Appointment of Nine North Texas Students to U.S. Service Academies

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas  (Dallas Texas) U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32) this summer announced that nine students in the 32nd Congressional District have accepted appointments to the United States Service Academies as members of the class of 2022 and class of 2023. Benjamin Baroody of Dallas has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy. Brooke Allen of Dallas and Stone Sawyer of Richardson have been appointed to the United States Military Academy (West Point). Matteo Cordray of Dallas has been appointed to the United States Military Prep School. George Smith and Patrick Mishler of Dallas and Charles Wheat of Richardson have been appointed to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Mark Mercer of Richardson has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy. Jacob Hoodenpyle of Richardson has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy Prep School. Congressman Sessions who represents the 32nd Congressional District supports maintaining a strong and agile national defense and has taken a special interest in the appointment of Texas students to the nations finest Service Academies. Each year numerous applicants request appointments to the Academies but only a select few are appointed. Students requesting a nomination from Sessions are evaluated on a variety of criteria including academic background physical ability personal recommendations and an evaluation and ranking by the Academy Selection Board. These young men and women set themselves apart from their peers through their rigorous dedication to high academic performance personal fitness and moral character" Sessions said. I am confident that they will make our community proud as they represent North Texas in our nations finest academic institutions."
