Every single Democrat who voted no this week proved they would rather let illegal aliens tip the scales in our national elections than protect your vote.
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, I proudly voted to pass the SAVE America Act to secure U.S. elections. It's common sense that only Americans should be able to vote in American elections, and this legislation ensures just that. It protects and preserves the right of American citizens to vote by requiring individuals provide proof of citizenship to register to vote, and to present a valid photo identification when voting.
The American people gave Republicans a mandate to put our country back on the right track. They gave us one to deliver wins, and the SAVE America Act is exactly that. Every single Democrat who voted no this week proved they would rather let illegal aliens tip the scales in our national elections than protect your vote. Your vote is sacred, and House Republicans have now delivered on our promise to secure it twice. The Senate must get this bill to President Trump's desk without further delay.
Following the vote, I recorded a video on the House steps explaining this important legislation. You can watch it

Oversight of the Department of Homeland Security
As Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, I participated in a hearing focused on oversight of DHS agencies and the growing threats facing immigration officers. During the hearing, I called out the radical anti-ICE movement, sanctuary city policies, and the staggering surge in threats against federal law enforcement agents.
ICE Director Lyons also testified that many of his agents are being threatened, doxxed, or harassed, and that there has been an over 8,000 percent increase in death threats. Extremist organizing efforts like "Defend the 612" have encouraged citizens to impede agents. I will continue to provide routine oversight to ensure that federal law enforcement officers are protected as they enforce the laws on the books. Read more on the hearing

RSC Members Meeting with HUD Secretary, Scott Presler, and EU Ambassador
I was honored to host Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner, election integrity advocate Scott Presler, and EU Ambassador Jovita Neliupšienė for the Republican Study Committee (RSC) member meeting. They all provided valuable insight into how House conservatives can work hand-in-hand to advance our America First agenda.
Secretary Turner discussed HUD's efforts to reduce regulatory barriers and increase affordable housing through free-market solutions. Scott Presler updated members on grassroots election integrity initiatives nationwide, while Ambassador Neliupšienė outlined opportunities to strengthen transatlantic relations while ensuring our allies share responsibility for collective security. These productive conversations will help guide the RSC's legislative priorities in the months ahead.
Texas Sterile Fly Dispersal Facility Completed
I am thrilled that the sterile fly dispersal facility to fight against New World Screwworm (NWS) has been completed in Edinburg, Texas. I applaud Secretary Rollins and the Trump administration for using every tool in its arsenal to detect, control, and eventually eliminate NWS.
This facility will expand USDA's ability to disperse sterile flies along the border and into the United States, if necessary. This is a critical step toward protecting our Texas ranchers and wildlife. Read more about the facility
