Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Building on the growing momentum since his announcement for Texas Senate just three weeks ago, Representative Phil King today announced a major endorsement from U.S. Senator Ted Cruz.
Senator Cruz said, “I’ve known Phil King since when I served as Texas’ Solicitor General and know him to be grounded in constitutional principles and the rule of law. Phil has a strong record of advocating for the unborn. With his background in law enforcement, he’s fought for tough border security. He’s passed legislation to stop the radical left from boycotting Texas’ energy industry, and authored legislation to oppose discriminatory economic campaigns against Israel, our friend and ally. He’ll be a strong conservative voice in the State Senate, and he has my full support.”

He earned a B.A. and M.B.A. from Dallas Baptist University, where he served as an adjunct professor and taught Constitutional Law. He earned his law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth (formerly Texas Wesleyan). Phil and his wife Terry are active members of Trinity Bible Church in Weatherford where Phil is an attorney and small businessman. They are the proud parents of six children and are blessed with sixteen grandchildren.
