Confidence in Biden’s Mental Capacity & Health dwindles – particularly among Democrat & Independent or Undecided Voters
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Texas Insider Report) — Driven in large part by the increasing concerns among his own party's Democrat Voters, just 37% of U.S. "Registered Voters" now say they believe that Joe Biden is "mentally fit" – down from an already low 42% prior to his debate performance with Donald Trump – and voter's perceptions about Biden’s age and physical fitness have also hit record lows according to the most recent Morning Consult Weekly Tracking Poll.

Both numbers are the lowest on record since Morning Consult began asking the question in 2020.
American's perception of whether Joe Biden is:
- in "Good Health" fell from 41% to 35% among All Voters, and
- from 75% to 63% among Democrats, while
- 68% of All Voters now say that Mr. Biden is "too old" – including 50% of Democrats,
- up from 64% and 43% prior to the debate.

- Among debate viewers, 78% say Biden is "too old," compared with 64% of All Voters who said the same days before the debate.
The coverage of Biden’s performance in the June 27th debate – which sent Democrats nationwide and in Washington, D.C. into a panic – is without a doubt the worst news cycle Mr. Biden has had to weather since entering office. As a result, as the Presidential Campaign enters into a crucial phase ahead of each party's National Conventions:
- Voters are now 31 points more likely to say they have heard something "negative than positive" about Joe Biden in the past week,
- representing the widest gap captured by Morning Consult since it began tracking the question weekly in November 2022.
With confidence in Biden’s mental capacity and health dwindling – particularly among Democrat and Independent or Undecided Voters – his debate performance and subsequent verbal gaffes will continue to hamper his chances of defeating former President Trump, and will likely contribute to Democrats’ worst fears of losing Senate & Houe of Representative seats in Congeress.
