President Trump is Calling "Checkmate" on Iran

Iran's reign of terror began with weak leadership by President Carter, and it's going to end with strong leadership by President Trump.

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – The military objectives — destroying the Navy, dismantling Iran's missile and drone production, and ensuring the regime never develops a nuclear weapon — are being accomplished quickly. And President Trump's recent attack on Kharg Island, which processes 90% of Iran's crude oil exports, is calling "checkmate" on the Supreme Leader.

I joined Shannon Bream on "Fox News Sunday" to discuss more about Operation Epic Fury and Democrats' shameful shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. Click HERE to watch the full interview.

Ensuring our Defense Industrial Base is Prepared to Meet the Challenges of Modern Warfare
When I was chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I knew that signing off on weapon sales was one of my most important duties and responsibilities. This is the committee of war and peace — an extremely relevant role today given the president's actions in Iran, which I fully support. Since 1979, a dark veil of terror has reigned over the Middle East, and thanks to President Trump, that shroud is being lifted. The weapons he is using to accomplish that goal are extremely important. But the Middle East isn't the only region in which our weapons are necessary.

Today, our world has several "hot zones," as I call them. It all started with President Biden's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, which set the world on fire. Russia brutally invaded Ukraine, Chairman Xi formed an unholy alliance with Putin as he threatened Taiwan, and the Ayatollah raised his ugly head in the Middle East, which culminated in Hamas' October 7th attack.

At this week's committee hearing, I spoke with Michael Duffey, the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment, about whether our defense industrial base is well-positioned to meet each of these challenges in the age of modern warfare. Click HERE to watch our full exchange

Good News for Security Preparations Ahead of the FIFA World Cup
While the FIFA World Cup presents a unique opportunity to showcase American leadership and excellence, we must be clear-eyed about the threats facing our nation. As we’ve learned from past events, including the Boston Marathon bombing, those who seek to do us harm often exploit events of this magnitude as a backdrop for terror.

That's why — as chairman of the congressional special events task force — I helped Homeland Republicans include $625 million in the One Big Beautiful Bill for security grants to help World Cup host cities prepare for the games. I've also been pushing Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to disburse these grants as quickly as possible. In today's heightened threat environment, there's no time to waste.

This week, FEMA officials awarded these vital security grants — including more than $100 million for host cities in Texas. I'm incredibly grateful for all the personnel who worked to get these grants out the door despite Democrats' shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. With less than 90 days to go until the opening match, I will continue working full speed ahead in Congress and alongside the White House task force to protect all players, spectators, and local communities
