As both a dentist and a Member of Congress, I’ve seen the Serious Challenges facing our nation's Health Care System

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, I was proud to vote for President Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” – a package that delivers real results for the American people. This bill locks in the Trump tax cuts, reins in reckless spending, defunds Biden’s radical agenda, and restores order at our southern border.
After four years of open-border chaos, crushing inflation, and government overreach, this legislation puts working Americans first.
It lifts the burden off small businesses, protects taxpayer dollars, ensures that our government serves the people – not the other way around – and I urge the Senate to move quickly so we can get this historic win to President Trump’s desk.

Key provisions of the bill include:
- Preventing a looming tax hike by locking in the Trump tax cuts of 2017;
- Cutting taxes on tips, overtime, and auto loan interest so that hardworking Americans keep more of their paycheck;
- Providing meaningful tax breaks for retirees;
- Redirecting taxpayer dollars away from Planned Parenthood and toward real health care options that value life;
- Ending taxpayer-funded transgender procedures under Medicaid and rooting out fraud by creating work requirements and tightening eligibility—removing over 1.4 million illegal aliens from the program;
- Canceling Biden’s radical EV mandate and repealing the Inflation Reduction Act’s special interest tax breaks;
- Encouraging responsibility through stronger SNAP work requirements; Delivering serious resources for the border, empowering DHS, Border Patrol, and Tom Homan’s team to get the job done and protect our nation.
As both a dentist and a member of Congress, I’ve seen the serious challenges facing our health care system – especially in rural communities. In my recent op-ed in The Washington Times, There, I highlight how rising education costs and a growing shortage of providers are threatening access to care across America.
That’s why I introduced the "REDI Act," a commonsense bill to stop student loan interest from piling up during medical and dental residencies. It’s a targeted step to strengthen our health care workforce and ensure American patients get the care they need.
I joined Fox News alongside Alexis Nungaray – the brave mother of Jocelyn Nungaray – to discuss my bill to officially rename the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge in her daughter’s honor.
This legislation codifies President Trump’s executive order and ensures Jocelyn’s memory will live on as a lasting tribute to her life.
This legislation codifies President Trump’s executive order and ensures Jocelyn’s memory will live on as a lasting tribute to her life.
Jocelyn’s tragic death has shaken our community, and this bill is a meaningful step in honoring her legacy.
