Rep. Beth Van Duyne: House Votes to Fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

On Thursday I voted alongside my House colleagues to declare that Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism after years of their repeated attacks on Americans and democracy around the world. 

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. –  We are on the THIRD Democrat shutdown in 100 days. Every day the Department of Homeland Security goes unfunded, especially at a time of increased threats from Mexican cartels and possible Iranian sleeper cells operating in the U.S., is one more day that Democrats are showing our country they care more about protecting criminal illegal aliens than the safety of our citizens.

Last week, my House colleagues and I voted to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This is the second time legislation to fully fund DHS, protect our borders, pay for TSA agents at airports, fund the Coast Guard, empower FEMA to take care of victims of natural disasters, and so many other critical programs to care for American has advanced through the House with bipartisan support. It is time to end the Senate Democrat shutdown and stop endangering American lives.

53 Democrats voted AGAINST the resolution that states Iran remains the largest state sponsor of terrorism after decades of chaos and the killing of thousands of Americans.
