"Texas should be leading the fight against taxpayer-funded DEI, and with this bill, will finally stop subsidizing it in our great public universities!”
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – “Contrary to convention wisdom, Texas did not ban all DEI in public universities in 2023. In fact, countless exceptions allowed DEI faculty to continue indoctrinating students with this Marxist ideology, and I'm filing a bill to end this taxpayer abuse once and for all," said State Rep. Brian Harrison after exposing on a daily basis the many ways in which the Texas government, especially our public universities, have been promoting, supporting, and funding the leftist ideology of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI).
Earlier today, Rep. Harrison filed HB 2311 to finally end all DEI in public institutions in Texas.
"Texas should be leading the fight against taxpayer-funded DEI, and with this bill, will finally stop subsidizing it in our great public universities!” Harrison said.
HB 2311 legislatively codifies part of Gov. Abbott’s Executive Order GA 55 which prohibits DEI in public university “curricula” by removing exemptions in SB 17 (88R), which allow for DEI indoctrination in university courses and classrooms.
It also removes other exemptions from the more general prohibition on DEI, and, when passed, will finally end the scourge of DEI in Texas’s great public universities.
