Rep. Israel Announces Her Candidacy for Chairwoman of House Democratic Caucus

I didnt run for the Texas Legislature to fight losing battles or sit on the sidelines. Last session was difficult. While our classrooms were underfunded and our teachers underpaid state leaders obsessed over where to go to the bathroom. Next Session we have the opportunity to change the future for more than 5.3 million school children who have waited too long already. We must stay focused. This fall we will add more Democrats to the Texas House of Representatives. We cannot squander this opportunity. House Democrats deserve a powerful caucus that will stand up to Dan Patrick Greg Abbott and anyone else who isnt willing to put kids first. Its time for a new playbook and I am excited to step up.
