It's time to stop forcing American oil companies to comply with liberal green initiatives and instead put U.S. Consumers first

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Over the past several weeks, we have sent a letter to President Biden about his energy policies, voted on the House floor, participated in committee hearings, managed debate on the House floor, and so much more.

America's Energy Crisis
As members of Congress, our number one responsibility is to take care of our constituents – and right now, this Administration's policies are doing just the opposite. Hardworking Americans are being financially bled dry by the policy decisions being made by Mr. Biden – specifically on energy.

In Texas, as you've probably noticed, gas prices have sky-rocketed, rising over $.80 in just one week. The record for the highest state-wide average price for gas was broken for the first time since 2008 and Tuesday's record has been broken every day since then. Texas' average today is $4.01.

Upon taking office, President Biden signed a slew of executive orders demanding the Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland, to halt any new oil and natural gas leases on public lands and waters. Actions such of this have caused energy prices to skyrocket. While the leasing Executive Orders have been blocked by the courts, the Biden Administration continued their policy of halting new drilling leases.

Almost synonymously, this Administration revoked the Keystone XL Pipeline’s cross-border permit. The same permit this President revoked, would have transported over 800,000 barrels of crude oil daily – significantly increasing our supply.
 
The President's policies are increasing the cost of oil by canceling established leases, stalling new ones, and proposing sky-high taxes. He should be pursuing energy independence by reducing our imports and finding efficient ways to produce natural gas and oil at home.

The Biden administration's energy policies is crippling our economy and our desire to be an energy independent country. It's time to stop forcing American oil companies to comply with liberal green initiatives and instead to put the consumer first, lower oil and natural gas prices, and unleash America’s true energy potential.
