Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – This past weekend, we honored the US Army's 250th birthday -- celebrating their grit, sacrifice, and unyielding defense of our nation. Since 1775, the Army has served as a cornerstone of our nation's defense, adapting to evolving challenges while upholding its commitment to protect our great Republic and our interests.

As we mark this milestone, we salute the service members -- past and present -- who have shaped the Army's enduring legacy. Their contributions ensure our nation's security and inspire future generations.

Read bills I have introduced this Congress
Last month, I am proud to have introduced the Protecting AI and Cloud Competition in Defense Act. This bill would ensure that the Department of Defense's contracting for artificial intelligence and cloud computing tools prioritizes resiliency and competition. The bill would help spur competition and innovation with regards to the DOD contract bidding process, which would allow the US to stay ahead of competitors and ensure related data is kept secure.

Additionally, I led a letter to Army Secretary, Daniel Driscoll, asserting support for Red River Depot in TX-04 and commitment to adapt to the needs of the Army. Red River Army Depot, employing 3,500 workers, sustains key tactical vehicles, ensuring readiness across military branches. As a critical logistical hub, Red River, as well as depots across the country, need a clear modernization plan to avoid reduced capacity.

Memorial Day: I had the distinct honor of attending and speaking at the Plano Memorial Day Ceremony. The event served as a reminder of the bravery exhibited by those who served, fostering a spirit of rememberence and gratitude.

Committee on Oversight and Government Reform: On June 12, the Oversight Committee held a hearing with sanctuary state governors, including Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota. See my full line of questioning Here:

Free Market Involvement in AI Is the Key to the US Military’s Future Success: Last Month, I introduced the FAST Act, which would unleash American free-market innovation to supercharge our military with cutting-edge AI. We MUST slash red tape & boost private-sector collaboration to outpace modern threats from our adversaries. Read more in my latest HERE
