"I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, but our work isn’t done yet."
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – State Representative Todd Hunter, a stalwart champion for the Coastal Bend, announced his bid for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives District 32. As a leader who has delivered for Nueces and Aransas counties, Chairman Hunter is committed to continuing his work on behalf of the region’s families and communities.
"I've had the honor of delivering real results for our communities, and I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished together," said Chairman Hunter.
"From education to tourism, to the future of our local economy, my mission has always been to protect and strengthen our way of life here in the Coastal Bend."

Among his top local achievements, Chairman Hunter secured $100 million in critical funding for our Coastal schools, alleviating the burden of rising insurance costs while redirecting more dollars into the classroom.
He also delivered $5 million for the University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas.
And Hunter fortified the long-term future of the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association — reducing costs for property owners by utilizing state-backed financing to cover excess losses, rather than relying on public securities.
To support our Texas and Coastal Bend tourism efforts, Hunter:
- Secured $30 million to renovate the historic Ritz Theater in Corpus Christi
- Directed $1.8 million in new funds toward the Texas Maritime Museum, and
- Strengthened our local oyster economy by providing tax relief for restaurants that purchase Texas farm-raised oysters and recycle their shells.
"I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, but our work isn’t done yet," Hunter said.
"With your support, I'll continue fighting for the Coastal Bend, ensuring that we have the resources we need to keep thriving.
"Working together, we get things done."

State Rep. Hunter was also instrumental in securing a record-setting new school funding, including $8.5 billion in additional funds for teacher pay raises and school safety measures.
