WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. House of Representatives passed all remaining annual funding bills, keeping the federal government fully operational through the remainder of Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26). Through his seat on the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) secured over $42 million in direct funding for communities across South and West Texas.
“As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I take seriously my responsibility to use taxpayer dollars wisely while delivering results for the communities I represent. This year's funding bills include more than $42 million to service critical needs across our district,” said Congressman Tony Gonzales. “The projects I secured in these bills will help our veterans have better access to services, provide law enforcement officers in Texas with more resources, make important school safety upgrades, improve emergency response efforts, and support water infrastructure across Texas’ 23rd Congressional District. These resources will soon be on the way to our communities, and I look forward to seeing these important projects break ground across our district.”
To date, Congressman Gonzales has secured nearly $170 million in community investments for TX-23.

- $4.2 M for School Security Enhancements for North East ISD in San Antonio
- $2.6 M for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Anti-Gang Intelligence Unit
- $4.2 M for Medina County Law Enforcement Radio Upgrades
- $4.2 M for School Security Enhancements for Uvalde CISD
- $3.2 M for West Texas Law Enforcement Communications Upgrades
- $4.2 M for Lower Valley Law Enforcement Equipment Upgrades in El Paso County
- $1.25 M for Wastewater Infrastructure in Bexar County
- $1.25 M for Uvalde County’s Drought Resiliency Project
- $2 M for a Community Center in Hudspeth County
- $2 M for a Community Center in San Elizario (El Paso County)
- $1.9 M for an Emergency Operations Center in Frio County
- $2 M for the UAS Drone Workforce Development Center at the University of Texas at El Paso
- $2 M for First Responder Housing in Reeves County
