Its pretty high on our agenda as you know. I would be shocked if we didnt move forward and keep our commitment to the American people said the Senate Majority Leader indicating that the U.S. Senate will move quickly to repeal Obamacare in a GOP Congress wiith a Republican in the White House in 2017.
McConnell would not commit to using Budget Reconciliation to repeal the law though many believe it would be a likely path for Republicans to use to repeal the law. President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to repeal President Obamas signature domestic achievement and both Trump and Congressional Republicans have said Obamacare repeal is a priority. Yet as with most bills that involves time consuming cost analysis meetings and the formulation of a replacement piece of legislation. Policy experts say it is likely a repeal bill would delay the date on which the law takes effect in order to give lawmakers time to try to come up with a replacement. The reconciliation bill last year did not include a replacement but phased out subsidies and Medicaid expansion over a two year period to allow time for crafting a replacement. Republicans will face difficulty designing a plan and dealing with factors like cost estimates despite the outline put forward by House Republicans this year.
