It's Time for Washington to Pay Their Tab
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week in Washington, House Republicans took action to secure our border and uphold the constitutional balance of power. While President Trump remains focused on cutting government waste and lowering the national deficit, we pushed forward with common-sense legislation to support our law enforcement and Border Patrol agents and to reinforce the checks and balances that safeguard our freedoms.
- I joined America Reports on Fox News to discuss the cartels at our border and to continue urging my colleagues to support my Birthright Citizenship Act..

I met with Governor Abbott to discuss how we can continue to support these efforts.
Now the Texas Congressional delegation in Congress is united in demanding that Washington reimburse our state for the infrastructure and resources spent securing the Southern Border.
Standing With Law Enforcement
In December 2022, Officer Raul Gonzalez tragically lost his life in a high-speed chase involving illegal immigrants near the border. Last week, I proudly supported the Agent Raul Gonzalez Safety Act, which ensures that illegal aliens who evade law enforcement in vehicular pursuits are deemed inadmissible and subject to removal.
Democrats, however, chose to side with criminals. 155 of them voted to reward those who flee from law enforcement with green cards. It’s shameful.
Stopping Biden’s Last-Minute Power Grab
In his final days, former President Biden and unelected bureaucrats rushed to impose job-killing regulations and burdensome policies on American families and businesses. House Republicans said enough. We passed H.R. 77, the Midnight Rules Relief Act, to roll back these last-minute power plays and put control back where it belongs, with the American people.
As Speaker Johnson put it, “House Republicans are working to reverse the destructive overreach from the last administration.” We’re fighting to make government efficient, accountable, and responsive. NOT a tool for radical bureaucrats.
Border Security Caucus Update
It was great to have U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks join the Border Security Caucus last week. He made it clear: under Biden, we had absolute chaos at the border. Under Trump, we have control. We are committed to building the wall, fighting the cartels, and ensuring America’s security comes first.
Our efforts to restore order and uphold the rule of law at our border are stronger than ever.
