Rick Perry Endorses David Spiller for Texas House

“I encourage folks to vote for conservative David Spiller to protect our rural schools, water resources, private property, and Constitutional rights."

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Former Texas Governor and U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry announced his endorsement of Jacksboro conservative David Spiller, who is seeking to represent House District 68 in the Texas House of Representatives. Spiller is a family attorney who will work to defend rural conservative values against urban interests in the Texas House.

House District 68 was vacated by Rep. Drew Springer after Springer’s victory in the Senate District 30 runoff election. With 22 counties stretching 300 miles between Cooke and Crosby County, and 200 miles from Wheeler to Fisher County, House District 68 is the most rural district in Texas and the home district of Governor Perry.

“I trust David Spiller to protect the people and the values that we all grew up with here,”
said Perry. “I encourage folks to vote for conservative David Spiller to protect our rural schools, water resources, private property, and Constitutional rights."

Spiller is 100% pro-life and has the highest “AQ” rating from the NRA. His platform is based on supporting law enforcement and first responders, securing our border, safeguarding second amendment rights, sufficiently funding public schools, cutting taxes, making government more efficient, promoting economic development and opening up businesses.

“I am honored to have Governor Perry’s endorsement,” said Spiller. “I look forward to working on behalf of him and all of my neighbors as we hold the line, stand up for conservative values, and stop the liberals attempting to take over Texas.”

The campaign finance report released last week showed Spiller easily leading the field with more money raised than all four opponents combined.

Spiller lives in Jacksboro with his wife of 33 years, Ginger. He and Ginger have two sons, Mason and Reid, who are both attorneys in Jacksboro. Mason and his wife, Alex, have one son, Shepherd. Reid and his wife, Haley, are expecting a child. Spiller and his wife are members of First Baptist Church of Jacksboro.

The Special Election Day is Saturday, January 23.
