RODRIGUEZ: American Border Policy Suffers from 1-2-3 Punch

Caravan of immigrants" will take advantage of Obamas Catch & Release" policy By George Rodriguez Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas As a caravan of 1000 Central Americans moves toward our Texas Border determined to enter one way or another the one-two-three punch undermining U.S. immigration policies continues. Mexico is not doing much to stop or turn them back and Democrats are ready to open the border to welcome them. Congressional Republicans seem fearful of taking any action. It is outrageous. First we need to hold Mexico responsible for not stopping these people or for doing little to stop illegal immigration and border crime. Mexican politicians suffer from an inferiority complex to the U.S. and constantly criticize American attempts to protect our nation. Second Democrats have shown they are more concerned with illegal aliens" than with United States citizens by supporting policies like Sanctuary Cities and open borders. With the help of the liberal Media Democrats want to excuse and reward illegal immigration. Finally Congressional Republicans seem paralyzed with political fear rather than the courage to act to protect America for fear of being called racists". They must not be afraid to take legislative action and should use the Nuclear Option" in the U.S. Senate to change the rules of debate so something might be to upgrade our nations immigration laws to protect citizens and legal residents. The caravan of immigrants" traveling toward to our border will no doubt take advantage of the Obama era Catch & Release" policy. Under Catch & Release illegal immigrants can claim asylum and receive the usual notice to appear ticket requesting that they return to court at some date far in the future. However Hector Garza (right) with the Border Patrol Union says

Few illegal immigrants actually show up months later at their hearing and disappear into American communities.

While predicting that the immigrants in the caravan will similarly claim asylum and be given an appearance ticket when they reach the U.S. Garza added 

Obama holdovers within the Homeland Security agency are implementing those same policies that were in effect under the Obama administration. 

Congress should pass a law the requires asylum seekers to apply from their home country. The U.S. should create holding stations in those countries where asylum seekers can reside until their cases are reviewed. Also American foreign aid should be used for asylum seekers to fund the holding stations in those home nations rather than giving it to the governments. Finally anyone caught entering the U.S. illegal should NOT ever be eligible for asylum. Period.

• Republicans who control Congress must stop being cowards and act to stop illegal immigrants and border crime.
• Voters must punish Democrats at the polls for undermining American security and laws.
• And Mexico must be punished for their lack of cooperation support and respect of American Immigration Laws. 

Besides Congressional inaction we have liberal judges who have given illegal aliens the same rights benefits and privileges as citizens and legal residents. Illegal aliens should not have any Constitutional rights or protections. The Preamble to the Constitution says governments role is to provide for the national defense". We must protect the secure and border from illegal immigration and border crime by ending NAFTA and using the military as President Trump is now doing if necessary. George H.
