RRC Enforcement Actions Taken at Commissioners Aug. 21 Conference

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas The Railroad Commission of Texas assessed $2683824 in fines involving 708 enforcement dockets against operators and businesses at the Commissioners conference this week. The Commission has primary oversight and enforcement of the states oil and gas industry and intrastate pipeline safety. One operator was assessed $5180 in an oil and gas docket that went to hearing. The final order for Docket 10-0309130 can be found on the RRC website here. One operator was assessed $2500 in a damage prevention docket that went to hearing. The final order for Docket No. 51705 can be found here. Operators were assessed $1000119 after failing to appear at Commission enforcement proceedings. Operators were ordered to come into compliance with Commission rules and assessed $910225 for oil and gas LP-Gas and pipeline safety rule violations. Pipeline operators and excavators were assessed $765800 for violations of the Commissions Pipeline Damage Prevention rules.
