Thanks to cutting-edge technology and innovation, record-breaking energy production continues across the Permian Basin. Following our visit to a rig site, Secretary Wright and I addressed a rally at the Bush Convention Center in Midland alongside leaders in the American energy industry. During my remarks, I celebrated the resilience and continued growth of domestic energy production. There's no better place to see American energy dominance in action than West Texas.

I applaud Secretary Wright and the Trump Administration for their continued support of the Permian Basin and their commitment to American energy dominance. My Thoughts on Proposed Border Security Efforts in Big Bend National Park
My office and I have been in contact with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and local officials about recent developments at Big Bend National Park.

I urge CBP to work hand-in-hand with local leaders, communities, and ranchers in designing any new border security infrastructure. Security and conservation are not mutually exclusive; we can protect our border without sacrificing our national landmarks.

Heroes on the Concho Memorial
I was honored to join the dedication ceremony for Heroes on the Concho. This memorial honors more than 20,000 citizens of the Concho Valley who served our country during World War II.

When our nation called, the Greatest Generation answered without hesitation, leaving behind their homes, their families, and their everyday lives to defend freedom both overseas and here at home. Their courage and sacrifice changed the course of history, and we owe them a debt we can never fully repay.

Their stories deserve to be told, remembered, and passed down for generations to come. That responsibility now belongs to us. The Heroes on the Concho Memorial stands as a permanent reminder of that duty: a place where our children and grandchildren can come to learn what it truly means to serve something greater than yourself.

The most meaningful part of the day was watching families from across the Concho Valley find their loved ones' names etched onto the memorial. It's a moment we will never forget. A New York woman plotted to bomb the New York State Capitol this week. I am grateful to our federal law enforcement officers for their vigilance in stopping this potential attack before it could be executed. As Chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, I remain committed to ensuring that federal law enforcement is fully funded and equipped with the resources to keep Americans safe from bad actors. More Federal Investment Dollars Coming to San Angelo and Midland Airports
I am thrilled that additional federal dollars are being invested in the San Angelo and Midland airports. San Angelo Regional Airport will receive over $10.6 million to construct a new taxiway, and Midland International Air and Space Port will receive $21.6 million to update its existing runway.

As air traffic across West Texas continues to grow, our airports need modern, well-maintained infrastructure to keep passengers moving safely and efficiently.
