Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) announced the appointment of Cassy Garcia to be the Senator’s State Director.
From Edinburg, Texas, Cassy Garcia brings nearly two decades of experience in public service and government relations at the local, state, and federal levels. She began her career as a Regional Field Representative for the Texas Agriculture Commissioner and later served as Sen. Cruz’s South Texas Regional Director and Deputy State Director. She most recently served as Senator Cruz’s Acting State Director. During her time in Sen. Cruz’s office, Cassy was appointed by President Trump in 2020 to serve as Commissioner for the White House Hispanic Prosperity Initiative. Cassy received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg. She is married to Jason Owens, the retired 26th Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol.
